Presence Collective
Centering Prayer Circle in Calgary
When?
We meet every Wednesday from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Where?
We will be gathering in a circle around the Labyrinth in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Calgary (1121 14 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0P2)
What?
We will begin with 20 minutes of Centring Prayer (read full article on centring prayer here), followed by a brief contemplative liturgy, a moment for someone in the community to share in insight, a short reading, talk, or activity and some discussion.
Who?
This practice is not just for Christians, but for anyone who is looking to grow in their spiritual life. Unlike traditional forms of meditation you may be familiar with, centring prayer is receptive rather than concentrative. This means we open to divinity, we consent to its presence and action to show up and work in and through us. If you are looking to deepen your spiritual life, this unique development in the Western Wisdom Tradition may come as a surprise to you.
How?
This is a free offering of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. That said, donations are welcome! For first-time members, please email nicholas.fournie@gmail.com so I can introduce you to the practice beforehand.
