If Walls Could Wail (2023)

Short Story

Inspired by long drives down county roads toward Lake Erie as a kid, this story was born from the sight of abandoned farmhouses and the questions they stirred: who once lived there, and why were they left behind? My own family’s farmhouse, eventually demolished and plowed back into farmland, lingers in this memory. “If Walls Could Wail” is an homage to homes lost and the lives they once held, a creative meditation on decay, remembrance, and the ache of leaving things in the past.
